After the health care mandate has taken effect, we will start to see the effect that it has on our paychecks, for it will hurt, but for many it will kill them, but I do not think we got here over night, I mean would this bill have past 15 years ago? Does this bill bring us to a spot where we have to check our morals at the door to be ok in the eyes of the government?
The biggest thing that we want to look at with the passing of this bill is that it does two things; it shows where this country has gone, and where its morals are! Some might say that this country has, in fact, lost their morals and are now no longer working on moral bases. For any law or anything that is happening within in the country, I would disagree with this statement; I would say that we are running this country off a moral system, but it is not one that has kept this country from getting handed over to china.
For us to see what moral system we are, in fact, using here in the US, we must first define what morals are. “Everything in nature works in accordance with laws. Only a rational being has the power to act in accordance with his idea of laws-that is, in accordance with principles-and only, so he has a will. Since reason is required in order to derive actions from laws, the will is nothing but practical reason. If reason infallibly determines the will, then in a being of this kind the actions which are recognized to be objectively necessary, are also subjectively necessary-that is to say, the will is then a power to choose only that which reason independently of inclination recognizes to be practically necessary, that is, to be good. But if reason solely by itself is not sufficient to determine the will; if the will is exposed also to subjective conditions (certain impulsions) which do not always harmonize with the objective ones; if, in a word, the will is not in itself completely in accord with reason (as actually happens in the case of men); then actions which are recognized to be objectively necessary, are subjectively contingent, and the determining of such a will in accordance with objective laws is necessitation. That is to say, the relation of objective laws to a will not good through and through is conceived as one in which the will of a rational being, although it is determined by the principles of reason, does not necessarily follow these principles in virtue of its own nature.” (Groundwork of the metaphysic of morals Immanuel Kant)
So with what Kant, would believe, that gives one a set morals, this country still has morals. What is it based on? Kant says laws is part of it, so we live under laws in this country; thus we have morals, but we need to see what, law we are under, is the law God's guiding mans law, or is it just means laws? I would put forth to all of you reading this that we have left God's law at the door of the church. Have let mans moral law overcome the law of the living God. I would say that it is because of this, we have had bill passed like the healthcare bill in this country!
How can we as the body try and fix this? Well we need to start with being the body and showing God's law, to others on how the law that he has set is, in fact, is for or good to keep us from being like the ones who do not have this law over them. We as a church need to be the hands and feet of God! We need to show that, God is enough!
