Sardis Baptist Church
Today we will be reviewing Sardis Baptist Church in Swansea, SC lead by Pastor Mark Hardenbrook. We will be reviewing them via their website and audio sermons located at; http://www.sardischurchswansea.org. Thanks to one of our viewers we have the pleasure to be able to review a church that actually takes the Word of God seriously and the preaching and teaching of the Word even more seriously.
The best place to start our review of Sardis Baptist Church we will be to look at their “Statement of Faith” which can be found at; http://www.sardischurchswansea.org. It is always a good sign when you are looking at a statement of faith and see that statement of faith backed with Scripture. Sardis Baptist Church has done a very good job at communicating what they believe and backing that belief with proper scripture in its proper context. A statement of Faith that is written so well is a rare find in churches of the day and it’s a even rarer find to see one that is biblically sound a uses the Word of God has its foundation.
While statements of faith are important in a church and are a great place to start a review they don’t mean much if they are not being followed and preached from the pulpit. Pastor Mark Hardenbrook seems to have a very good command of the scriptures and preaches a very straight forward to the point exegetical sermon. This type of preaching is a real pleasure to hear in comparison to so much of the poor topical sermon chatter that is called preaching. It is really nice to hear Pastor Mark preach and teach the Word of God from the pulpit and not use the sermon time for jokes and stories. It is really nice to hear a Pastor preach the full counsel of God and not compromise for popularity or to tickle the congregations ears.
Upon reviewing Sardis Baptist Church’s Statement of Faith and listening to their on line sermons we suggest if you are living in or near the Swansea, SC and are looking for a church to attend then try this church. If you are looking for a solid church that preaches what the Word of God teaches without adding narcissistic eisegesis to their sermons than this is the church you will want to attend.
