SIKHISM
The Sikh religion or Sikhism was founded in the Northern India in the 15th century by Guru Nanak Dev who was directly influenced by Hinduism and Islam. The purpose of the Sikh religion is to foster an universal brotherhood. Followers of this religion receive their doctrinal authority from The Adi Granth (“the original book), which would be considered the Sikh Bible.
Supposedly the founder Gurn Nanak was the recipient of visions and claimed divine inspiration and is the author of the Adi Granth along with 10 other historical Sikh Gurus. The Adi Granth complied writings of most of the Sikh Gurus. Gobind Singh complied the final version and also wrote the Dasm Granth, the Granth Of The Tenth Guru. In their teaching there are 5 K’s that a faithful Sikh followers as a way to be in favor of the guru.
The Five Ks that faithful Sikhs observe:
The Sikh religion would be considered a non-Christian cult by mainstream Christian standards. Sikh follower’s outright reject Christianity and its teachings. The Sikhs have no specific day for worship. In the West they usually assemble on Sundays.
While they believe that God is infallible, they also believe that there is only one God they don’t believe in a God-head or a Trinity. They also believe that Jesus was just a human teacher not God in flesh. Sikhism also teaches that man is inwardly divine, thus he is not sinful. Man can achieve salvation through works and the guru’s grace but salvation is not really needed since man is already inwardly divine.
Sikhism also teaches that sin is ignorance and that it is not truly offensive to God. In Sikhism Satan is considered a Christian myth and does not exist. Therefore believing that Satan does not exist this leads to the belief that death is ultimately inconsequential. When a person dies they are not really dead but they pass on to a different temporal state or place.
In summary Sikhism is a non-Christian cult that is a man-made religion focusing on oneself and promoting universalism of man coming together for peace and harmony. While this coming together for peace and harmony is good in theory it offers no real hope of eternal salvation. While the people following this religion may be well meaning and nice they are doomed to hell without the Jesus Christ as their Savior.

- Kangha: a wooden comb used to comb the hair twice daily.
- Kara: an iron bangle placed on one’s hand.
