Transubstantiation
Transubstantiation (in Latin, transsubstantiatio, in Greek μετουσίωσις metousiosis) is the unscriptural theory accepted by Roman Catholicism, that in the Lord's Supper, the elements or the Eucharist are transformed into the actual body and blood of Jesus. However, there is no perceptible or measurable change in the elements. The transformation occurs during the Mass at the elevation of the elements by the priest. In Transubstantiation the Roman Catholic Church also teaches that Jesus Christ is sacrificed for the believer every time the Lord's Supper or Eucharist is taken .
