Yes, we have all seen them walking the neighborhoods while we are out about our daily business. Some of us have even have had them knock at the door on a Saturday morning summing our practiced response, "Quick don't answer the door, may be they will go away." So who are the Jehovah Witnesses and what are they trying to sell to everyone?
The purpose of this article is to give an overview of the who and what the JW's are. We will discuss in more detail the problems with their theology, teachings, and twisting of scripture in later articles. The truth of the matter is that the Jehovah Witness's are not biblical they are in fact a false religion teaching anti Christ material and beliefs. They are in the simplest terms a non-Christian cult. This is not to say that the JW's knocking at your door are evil people and out rightly trying to send people to hell. The sad fact is that many of them are deceived themselves not knowing the truth of what the bible really teaches. Instead they rely on what the Watch Tower and their Elders are teaching them. Primarily, the Jehovah's Witness organization is a mind-control organization that uses its people to pass out literature and send in "donations" to the headquarters in Brooklyn, New York.
So the next time you see a Witness or one comes knocking at the door instead of not answering the door and acting like your not home, open the door and share the truth with them. Making sure you share the Gospel with them in love. You may be very surprised the response you get.
The History of the Jehovah Witness
Here is a brief outline of of their history from 1852 through 2000.
What the Jehovah Witnesses believe.
Here is a quick overview of 30 items that the Jehovah Witnesses believe. Read them carefully and compare them to what the Christian Bible says. You will be amazed how much they take Christian beliefs and put a slight twist on them to make them a false belief.
In short we can see that what the Jehovah Witnesses believe and what the bible teach are two very different sides of the coin. We must know what a false religion teaches and know how to answer them with solid biblical answers when they come knocking. Please watch this video below from Matt Slick at CARM on a more of an overview of what the JW's believe in a nutshell.
The Jehovah's Witnesses consider themselves to be Christians because they believe they are serving the true and living God. Like many cults, they think they are the only true church on earth. Yet, they deny the Trinity, the deity of Christ, the personhood of the Holy Spirit, Jesus' physical resurrection, and salvation by grace through faith.
The Jehovah's Witnesses are discouraged from looking into Jehovah's Witness history or old Watchtower literature which is replete with contradictions, altered doctrines, and false prophecies. Instead, they are indoctrinated repeatedly against basic Christian doctrines (Trinity, deity of Christ, etc.) and into the notion that they alone are the true servants of God and that all others are either in "Christendom" or simply unbelievers.
So in conclusion,
